The overall demand for engineers in Georgia remains high with an estimated 882 new engineering positions created between 2010 and 2012. However, not all segments of the engineering profession are on equal footing in the state. Aerospace represents more than half of the new positions, while the industrial and mechanical segments are also growing strongly. Three of the top 10 engineering segments actually lost modest numbers of jobs during this period: electronics, civil and health & safety.
