Patent Growth Trends (all patent types) – GA and Benchmark States

The total number of patents of all types issued to Georgia inventors climbed from 1,580 in 2007 to 2,206 in 2011. Nevertheless, Georgia is last among the benchmark states in the total number of patents granted annually during the period 2007 through 2011. Not surprisingly, California lead this metric with more than 30,000 patents granted to that state’s inventors in 2011.
