Demographics of Georgia’s Technical College Students

The Great Recession has been a factor in the make-up of Georgia's technical college enrollment in recent years. According to the Technical College System of Georgia, large numbers of the unemployed and underemployed have enrolled in the technical colleges to train for new, in-demand careers. As a result, there has been a corresponding increase in the number of older students attending Georgia's technical colleges.
