Georgia’s Top 10 Academic R&D Universities
Georgia Tech, Emory University and the University of Georgia are the leading R&D institutions in Georgia, according to the most recent data compiled in 2009. After these three large universities, there is a considerable drop off in the dollar amounts spent on R&D. The Medical College of Georgia* is in fourth place based on this most recent data available from the National Science Foundation's annual survey. The R&D spending increased in 2009 at Georgia Tech and Emory, while the data for UGA reflected a small decrease in this category of spending.
